In 1927 the brand Lee developed a hookless fastener for the overalls and buttonless overalls with zippers replacing the buttons. Soon after, suspender buttons were replaced by belt loops that you attach over your shoulders.

In 1990, there was essentially an overall movement in the United States that used overall as their symbol to protest against the rising costs of clothing and the profits made by clothing companies.

During the great depression in the 1930s, some of the poorest settlements in America used to wear Overalls; these included miners, farmers, loggers, and railroad workers. Overalls were a more common clothing item among men and boys than women.

Today, however, overalls have evolved into a high fashion item of clothing that is affordable and mostly worn by women as a fashion item.

The short overall has the same features except that the pants are shorts rather than full or mid-length.
